lyrics
We should have known, you're not an island but you're as closed as one
And all this time, I dream of nothing but I dream of all your flaws
And cut through concrete: A failed heart that's big enough for me to break it
We've always known, there are mountains hiding underneath us, hiding underneath us.
All this we'd hid, you're not an island but you're survived by sea
And all this time, although we played at love this heart has had enough of
The rats at the gates closing in and now he screams at all your neighbours
How could you know?
That there are mountains hiding underneath.
We should have seen, you're not an island but you're as closed as me
Of all things we'd said, you kept your friends held close but they have kept you closer
I cut through concrete: A failed heart that's broke enough for me to stop it
We've always known that there are monsters living in our beds.

A group that I know only too well, I’ve been with them for nearly 30 years; from their Glaswegian basement origins to their current status as Arena band. My enthusiasm for their later output may have tempered somewhat as the mighty ‘Gwai evolved their sound to avoid pigeonholing, but there is nothing better than when they lay waste to a venue via the sheer euphoria of ‘Helicon 1’. They’re still devastating live and, after all those years, THE authority in Instrumental Rock music. Logen Ninefingers
Ten gorgeous compositions from Iceland’s Gísli Gunnarsson that ride the line between ambient & modern classical. Breathtaking. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 25, 2023
